Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The present study aims to assess and evaluate the translation quality of Cultural Markers. It investigates the problems and errors found in the Arabic translation namely Herman Hesse’s (Rosshalde) novel translated by Yemeni translator Abdulwahab Al-Maqaleh, using House Quality Assessment Model. To reach the aim of the study, the researcher selected randomly some of cultural markers of an original Novel. The ST was first read thoroughly and then the TT was compared, several mismatches were found at practically every three dimensions of register (field, tenor, and mode). Here, the study conclude that These mismatches have exposed the nature of the error, i.e., overtly erroneous errors. which categorized into five categories <\/em>Not translated, Slight change in meaning, Significant change in meaning, Distortion of meaning and Creative translation. The errors that appeared, prove that the quality of translation many of the culture markers is not acceptable, but not all the markers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
