Abstract:<\/strong>
Crimes of sedition and hatred pose a direct threat to society as they endanger individuals’ fundamental rights and the psychological stability of the entire community. These crimes increase vulnerability to hostility, spread tension, fear, and pressure, and isolate individuals from the broader social stream. This is particularly significant in Jordan, a country renowned for its security and safety and its consistent reception of large numbers of guests, tourists, and refugees. The term “hate crimes,” which has recently gained prominence, is relatively unfamiliar to Jordan and Arab legislations. Arab legal systems and jurisprudential literature rarely address this type of crime, whereas it is well-established in most Western legislations, such as those in the United States and the United Kingdom. Hence, the importance of this research lies in clarifying the legal concept of hate crimes, highlighting their nature, forms, elements, and subject matter, and distinguishing them from similar offenses. Additionally, the study examines the position of Jordanian legislation on such crimes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
