Herbs and their extracts possess a variety level of biological activities and antimicrobial activities of many them have been proved. Sidar is one of these plants which has high efficacy against the growth of microorganisms, inhibiting many Gram positive and negative bacteria growth. This study was conducted to evaluate the antimicrobial activity of aqueous and ethanolic extraction of leaves from Sidar (Ziziphus) species against tow bacterial strains (Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli) isolated in Laboratory of Microbiology at the Department of Medical Laboratories, Faculty of Medical Technology, Wadi Al Shati University, Libya. Leaves extracts were prepared at concentration of (25, 50, 75, 100 %) and the agar disk diffusion method was adopted to assess the antibacterial activity of the prepared extracts against the Staphylococcus aureus and <em>Escherichia coli<\/em>. The results showed that antimicrobial activity depended on the type of extract, its concentration, and the microorganisms tested. The greatest biological activity was achieved by the ethanolic extract compared to the aqueous extract, the highest inhibition was 28 mm at 100% concentration against <em>Staphylococcus aureus<\/em>,
