environmental and climatic challenges facing Libya, this study highlights the pivotal role of civil engineers in promoting environmental sustainability within infrastructure projects. Adopting a descriptive-analytical approach, the research explores how sustainable design principles can be integrated into planning and execution phases, particularly in the Libyan context, which suffers from limited resources, weak environmental regulations, and a shortage of technical expertise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study addresses five key dimensions: sustainable material selection, energy efficiency enhancement, water resource management, sustainable urban planning, and climate adaptation. It also examines the obstacles civil engineers encounter in applying these concepts and proposes innovative technical and institutional solutions to support the transition toward more resilient and sustainable projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Findings reveal that civil engineers possess effective tools to reduce environmental impact and improve quality of life, yet require institutional and educational support to strengthen their role in sustainable development.
