Such aesthetic sensibility enables the critic to appreciate literary texts, grasp their meanings and implications with depth, and identify their beauty and creative techniques. The research traces this approach from the pre-formal stages of critical theory up to the concept of aesthetic criticism in the thought of the eminent Arab scholar Mahmoud Mohamed Shaker.
