 Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This research aims to study the ritual of sacrifice (Udhiyah) in light of the environmental and economic challenges facing some Islamic countries, particularly Morocco, due to drought, scarcity of pastures, and the rising prices of livestock. The study discusses the Islamic legal ruling of Udhiyah and its Sharia objectives, examines the impact of environmental and economic changes on its performance, and reviews the positions of contemporary scholars regarding decisions to suspend or ease the ritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The researcher adopted the inductive method to trace the relevant religious texts and juristic evidences, the analytical method to study the effects of economic and environmental conditions on the legal ruling, the comparative method to present the views of different Islamic schools of thought, and the descriptive method to explain the Moroccan context.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study concludes that Udhiyah is a confirmed Sunnah, conditional upon ability and financial capacity, and that when environmental and economic challenges reach a level causing widespread hardship, temporary easing or suspension of the ritual is permissible, as Islamic law is founded on removing hardship and achieving benefit. The study also emphasizes the importance of adopting practical solutions, such as promoting agriculture and sustainable grazing, supporting livestock breeders, and importing animals during critical periods to reduce the burden on citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
