Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This study aims to clarify the aspects of how the people of pre-Islamic Arabia dealt with livestock, their beliefs about it, and to reveal the danger of doctrinal deviation and its leading to many practical and behavioral deviations. The problem addressed by this study is crystallized in answering the following questions: Does Surah Al-An’am contain any examples of how the people of pre-Islamic Arabia dealt with the animals that God Almighty permitted? What were the types of these interactions, and how did the Holy Quran condemn them? This study gains its importance from its connection to the Holy Quran, specifically Surah Al-An’am, one of its longer chapters and the most comprehensive chapter that mentions the conditions of the Arabs in pre-Islamic Arabia, and the most forceful in confronting, debating, and arguing against the absurdity of their practices. To learn lessons and avoid imitating them, the researcher adopted an inductive-analytical approach. The study revealed that the term “Jahiliyyah” refers to the period before the Prophet Muhammad’s mission (peace and blessings be upon him). They were called this because of their widespread ignorance, which is of two types: general and specific. The study also found that the people of the pre-Islamic era practiced many forms of prohibition and denial of the benefits of livestock. They associated other deities and rivals with God, forbade riding animals, permitted some uses of them while denying others, and restricted their use to males only. Their actions were based on a corrupt belief. The researcher recommended that educators, preachers, and educational institutions enlighten students and warn them against the consequences of speaking about God without knowledge, whether regarding what is permissible or forbidden. He also recommended that postgraduate students in medical colleges conduct research and experiments to reveal the miraculous nature of the legislation concerning prohibited meats, thus demonstrating the sublimity and excellence of Islamic law and the sophistication of Islam and its teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
