 Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This study aims to examine, through detailed analysis and research, the laudatory (panegyric) sections included in Ab\u016b Tamm\u0101m\u2019s D<\/em>\u012b<\/em>w<\/em>\u0101<\/em>n al-<\/em>\u1e24<\/em>am<\/em>\u0101<\/em>sa<\/em>. It seeks to introduce the art of praise (mad\u012b\u1e25) at the conceptual, typological, and semantic levels, and to explain the key criteria that guided Ab\u016b Tamm\u0101m\u2019s preference for this poetic genre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study addresses the following research questions: What does the art of praise signify as a literary concept? Did Ab\u016b Tamm\u0101m include poems of praise belonging to different subgenres? What are the most significant semantic elements found in his \u1e24<\/em>am<\/em>\u0101<\/em>sa<\/em>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The study is structured into three main sections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. An introduction to Ab\u016b Tamm\u0101m and to the laudatory section included in D<\/em>\u012b<\/em>w<\/em>\u0101<\/em>n al-<\/em>\u1e24<\/em>am<\/em>\u0101<\/em>sa<\/em>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. An examination of the art of praise and its explanation on two principal levels: first, self-praise or the praise of a specific group or tribe, namely individual or collective praise; second, praise based on the qualities of the praised subject, such as psychological state, courage, generosity, and other moral attributes, as well as praise grounded in physical attributes, or a combination of both.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    An analysis of the meanings encompassed by the art of panegyric and an exploration of other poetic genres that Ab\u016b Tamm\u0101m selectively incorporated without extensive elaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
