This study aimed to compare vitamin D levels and selected hematological and biochemical parameters between obese individuals and those with normal weight in Wanzzric\u2013Al-Shatti, Libya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Materials and Methods<\/strong>: A total of 100 male participants aged 18\u201345 years were included in this study, including 50 overweight or obese individuals and 50 normal-weight controls. Participants were selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, excluding individuals with chronic illnesses to enhance sample homogeneity and accuracy of results. Anthropometric measurements were recorded for all participants, and venous blood samples were collected to assess fasting blood glucose and serum vitamin D levels, in addition to several hematological indicators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Results<\/strong>: The findings showed that 64% of participants were overweight, 30% had class I obesity, 4% class II obesity, and 2% class III obesity. Vitamin D levels and hematological parameters were significantly lower among obese participants compared to controls (p &lt; 0.02). Statistical analysis revealed a moderate negative correlation between body mass index (BMI) and serum vitamin D concentration (r = \u20130.278, p &lt; 0.05), indicating that higher BMI is associated with lower vitamin D levels. A significant inverse correlation was also observed between vitamin D levels and mean corpuscular volume (MCV) (r = \u20130.332, p &lt; 0.02).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Conclusion<\/strong>: The results suggest that increased BMI is associated with decreased serum vitamin D concentration, and that vitamin D deficiency is related to alterations in certain hematological parameters. These findings support the hypothesis of metabolic interconnections underlying this condition and highlight the importance of monitoring vitamin D status in preventive and therapeutic programs targeting obese individuals to mitigate potential metabolic and hematological complications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Keywords: Obesity, Vitamin D deficiency, Body Mass
