Religions\u2019 focus on man was indeed with the intent of reflecting upon his essence, his existential purpose, his transcendence to reachper fection, as well as displaying his autonomous status and his quest for immortality through his exertion in this world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every religion has therefore presented its own conception of the human being based on its conception of God and the vertical and horizontal communicative relationships humans establish with the divine, as shaped through rituals and offerings documented in its sacred texts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this particular context this article aims at scrutinizing man in &#8220;Avesta&#8221;, the holy book of the Zoroastrian religion, which constitutes the encyclopedia of civilization, culture, ethics and anthropology of the Zoroastrian religion. Zoroaster, the founder of this religion, identified two types of souls for man. They are the spirit of goodness, truth and light, and the spirit of evil, delusion and darkness. In this situation man finds himself in a struggle between two diametrically opposed alternatives. On the one hand he seeks to eradicate evil from its roots and confront &#8220;Ahriman&#8221; the symbol of temptation and depravation, while on the other he strives to achieve perfection and immortality through the sacred &#8220;Haoma&#8221; drink, symbol of the elixir of life and the path of faith and eternal light. Light in this regard is taken to mean that of \u201cAhura Mazda\u201d, the uncreated, supreme, immortal and eternal god who embodies the sacred word and who rules the universe through goddess \u201cArta\u201d, who represents the system of honesty and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In light of this, the teachings of Zoroaster have established the moral trinity of righteous thought, righteous speech, and righteous deeds, and according to the Zoroastrian scheme of thought man is expected to opt for either purity and holiness or impurity. And similarly, perfection of man is contingent upon showing a high level of wisdom as well as being at peace with oneself, an inner peace that overflows outwardly with love, happiness, justice, and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This current study thereby contains an exploration of the formation process of the traits of man in the Zoroastrian religion, the approach employed in the depiction of man in his longing for perfection, and man\u2019s relationships, vertically with God and horizontally with himself and others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
