identify the level of emotional intelligence among married couples in the Batbu area of Idlib Governorate and to examine the differences in this level according to several demographic variables: gender, age, duration of marriage, and educational level. The study stemmed from the importance of emotional intelligence as a psychological and social factor that contributes to improving the quality of marital life and strengthening relationships between spouses, especially in environments affected by multiple stressors such as crisis-impacted regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study adopted a quantitative approach, which relies on collecting and analyzing numerical data using appropriate statistical methods to obtain accurate and generalizable results. This methodology was selected for its suitability in objectively studying psychological phenomena and identifying differences among diverse groups with clarity and precision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The study population consisted of married couples residing in the Batbu area of Idlib Governorate, aged between 25 and 45 years, with an estimated population of about 2,000 individuals. From this population, a simple random sample comprising 10%, or 200 couples, was selected. The sample was carefully structured to ensure balanced representation across the independent variable categories, thereby enhancing the comprehensiveness and accuracy of the findings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The research instrument was an emotional intelligence scale developed based on a review of relevant theoretical literature and prior studies. The scale included various dimensions of emotional intelligence, such as self-awareness, emotional regulation, and empathy. The study was conducted during the year 2025, within the predetermined timeframe for data collection and analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results revealed that the overall level of emotional intelligence among married couples in the study area was high. The &#8220;emotional regulation&#8221; dimension ranked highest, reflecting the participants\u2019 ability to manage their emotions and handle various situations with flexibility. Conversely, the &#8220;empathy toward others&#8221; dimension ranked lowest, although it still fell within the high level. The findings also indicated no statistically significant differences between males and females in emotional intelligence levels. However, significant differences were observed in favor of older participants, those with over ten years of marital experience, and those with higher educational attainment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on these findings, the study proposed several practical recommendations, most notably: enhancing training programs focused on developing emotional intelligence among couples, with particular attention to improving empathy skills. It also recommended targeting younger age groups in awareness initiatives and designing specialized programs for newlyweds to help them build balanced relationships. Furthermore, the study emphasized the role of individuals with higher education in promoting family education efforts and encouraged interactive meetings between couples of different age groups to facilitate the exchange of experiences. Finally, the study underscored the importance of gender equality in designing psychosocial programs and the critical role of education in enhancing marital life quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
