This study investigates the multifaceted challenges hindering the preservation and sustainable development of urban green areas in Marrakech. We explore how rapid demographic growth, rural and urban migration influenced by prolonged droughts, and large scale real estate and tourism investment projects, often facilitated by exception procedures, have contributed to this decline. Despite its historical designation as the \u201cGarden City\u201d, Marrakech faces a critical paradox where quantitative urban development does not align with the qualitative needs for green infrastructure. Employing a mixed methods approach, including an inductive methodology based on statistical analysis, literature review, and a comprehensive questionnaire distributed to 200 respondents across the city&#8217;s districts, this research maps the spatial distribution of existing green spaces and assesses their accessibility and attractiveness. The findings underscore the uneven distribution and often compromised quality of these vital public amenities, highlighting the urgent need for a strategic shift towards integrated urban management
