The study relied on several methods for data collection, including fieldwork, observation, interviews, and desk reports. It also employed a regional and descriptive-analytical research methodology. The study reached several conclusions, the most important of which are: The study found no statistically significant relationship between the collection, storage, and disposal of medical waste and environmental health in local healthcare units (84% confidence level). However, it did find a statistically significant relationship between the availability of infrastructure and technical resources and the efficiency of medical waste management in the locality (86% confidence level). The study concluded with several recommendations, most importantly: strengthening coordination between healthcare institutions and environmental and local authorities to develop joint policies and plans for medical waste management;
