The case study focuses on Kosti City, White Nile State. The study aims to identify the methods used for disposing of household waste and the resulting health and environmental effects. It employs several research methodologies, including the historical method, the descriptive-analytical method, and the quantitative statistical method. Multiple data collection methods were used, including primary sources such as observation, interviews, and questionnaires, and secondary sources such as books, dissertations, and reports. The study reached several conclusions, most notably that household waste management in the study area suffers from significant shortcomings. These include a shortage of equipment and manpower, inadequate and irregular waste collection campaigns covering residential areas, and reliance on traditional methods of household waste disposal, such as open burning or dumping in unregulated landfills within residential neighborhoods.&nbsp; The study also showed that the traditional disposal of waste, its burning and dumping in random landfills resulted in serious health effects, most notably respiratory and skin diseases. The study showed that the accumulation of waste in public streets and markets led to the distortion of the city&#8217;s urban appearance, and this affects the natural environment and human psychological and physical health.
