Abstract <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This study seeks to explain the origins and foundations of Quranic exegesis (tafsir), employing a sequential historical methodology linked to the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). It aims to uncover the first complete written commentary on Holy Quran, a work that has been largely overlooked, and to identify the earliest foundational principles of interpretation. Furthermore, it seeks to demonstrate the transmission of Quranic explanations to this nation, their enduring presence, and their continued relevance as long as the heavens and the earth exist. The study also aims to clarify the Prophetic method of conveying Holy Quran to the generation of the Companions (May Allah be pleased with them), exploring its various and diverse approaches, and subsequently to those who followed them. It is worth noting that scholars of exegesis, its principles, and other related fields have affirmed that the paramount task of explaining Holy Quran, and indeed the primary responsibility, rests with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), as God Almighty has stated: (And We have revealed to you the Reminder so that you may make it clear to mankind)<\/strong> [Quran 16:44] Its meaning is understood through comprehending the Prophet’s actions and life, his methods, and the profound greatness of his character. Regarding this transitional mechanism of prophetic communication, the Quran clarifies it by saying: (Then We caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants)<\/strong> [Quran 35:32] This inheritance is his knowledge and explanation to mankind, guiding them to the path of righteousness in this life and the Hereafter. It is a way of life and a constitution upon which they live, not subject to specific times or stages. It also involves clarifying the ambiguity of its meanings and objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
