Abstract
This study examines the transformations of the Palestinian national project following the events of 7 October 2023 through an interdisciplinary framework integrating political sociology, political philosophy, and settler colonial studies. It argues that the current Palestinian crisis should not be understood as a collapse of national identity, but rather as a transformation in the relationship between identity, political legitimacy, and institutional representation within an evolving settler-colonial context.
The research adopts a qualitative methodology based on historical sociology, philosophical analysis, discourse analysis, and critical literature review. It develops an original analytical framework entitled the Theory of the Reproduction of the Palestinian National Project, which conceptualizes the national project as a dynamic historical and social process reproduced through the interaction of national identity, political legitimacy, representation, collective action, and the regional and international environment.
The findings suggest that the events of 7 October constituted a critical historical turning point that reshaped Palestinian national consciousness and reinforced national identity as a unifying framework, while simultaneously exposing the need for renewed political legitimacy and more inclusive representative institutions. The study concludes that the future of the Palestinian national project depends on the ability of Palestinian society to transform its social cohesion into renewed institutional legitimacy capable of responding to contemporary political and social transformations.

الملخص
تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تحليل التحولات التي شهدها المشروع الوطني الفلسطيني في أعقاب أحداث السابع من أكتوبر 2023، من خلال مقاربة تجمع بين علم الاجتماع السياسي، والفلسفة السياسية، ودراسات الاستعمار الاستيطاني. وتنطلق الدراسة من فرضية مفادها أن الأزمة الراهنة لا تتمثل في انهيار الهوية الوطنية الفلسطينية، وإنما في التحولات التي طرأت على العلاقة بين الهوية والشرعية السياسية والتمثيل المؤسسي في ظل بيئة استعمارية استيطانية متغيرة.
اعتمدت الدراسة منهجاً نوعياً يستند إلى التحليل السوسيولوجي التاريخي، والتحليل الفلسفي للمفاهيم، وتحليل الخطاب، ومراجعة الأدبيات، لبناء إطار تفسيري يدمج نظريات الهوية والقومية والشرعية والهيمنة والاستعمار الاستيطاني. كما قدمت الدراسة نموذجاً نظرياً بعنوان “نظرية إعادة إنتاج المشروع الوطني الفلسطيني”، يفسر المشروع الوطني بوصفه عملية اجتماعية تاريخية يعاد إنتاجها بصورة مستمرة عبر التفاعل بين الهوية الوطنية، والشرعية السياسية، والتمثيل، والفعل الجمعي، والسياق الإقليمي والدولي.
وتوصلت الدراسة إلى أن أحداث السابع من أكتوبر مثلت نقطة تحول أعادت تشكيل الوعي الوطني الفلسطيني، وعززت حضور الهوية الوطنية بوصفها إطاراً جامعاً، في الوقت الذي أبرزت فيه الحاجة إلى تجديد مؤسسات التمثيل السياسي وتعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية. كما خلصت إلى أنّ مستقبل المشروع الوطني الفلسطيني يتوقف على قدرة المجتمع الفلسطيني على تحويل تماسكه الاجتماعي إلى شرعية سياسية ومؤسسات وطنية قادرة على استيعاب التحولات الداخلية والخارجية.
