Abstract:
This study examines the concept of seeking healing through acts of goodness within the Islamic perspective, as a domain that integrates faith, righteous deeds, and the psychological and spiritual care of the patient. The study does not present charity, supplication, remembrance of God, or visiting the sick as substitutes for medical treatment; rather, it views them as legitimate and meaningful means that assist the patient in attaining reassurance, fostering hope, and restoring the balance between servitude to God and the proper adoption of practical means.
The research problem stems from the fact that this topic is widely present in religious exhortation and commonly circulated experiences, yet it requires scholarly regulation to prevent it from turning into a definitive promise of healing, while at the same time preserving its spiritual and educational significance. Accordingly, the study adopts inductive, analytical, and foundational methodologies, with cautious reference to selected modern psychological studies that explain the impact of altruism and social support on psychological well-being.
The study concludes that seeking healing through acts of goodness is a valid concept when understood in its proper context: it purifies the soul, strengthens patience, and alleviates the burden of illness, without replacing or competing with material medical treatment. It further emphasizes that widely cited prophetic traditions in this field must be evaluated according to their degrees of authenticity, and that any specific medical claims require rigorous scientific evidence, rather than reliance on individual experiences or purely exhortative statements.
